Samaná gives its name to a peninsular province and a municipality located northeast of the Dominican Republic. Playa Rincon, in Las Galeras, is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. If you have the chance, pay a visit to the imposing Salto del Limón, Cayo Levantado and the virgin beach of Madama. If you are interested in the fauna, know that thousands of humpback whales approach the bay of Samaná during the winter mating season. At the Whale Museum, you will find a giant whale skeleton.
