On September 2, 2023, the Celestyal Journey ship took to the seas for the first time as the newest member of the Celestyal fleet, after receiving an extensive $20 million upgrade in Piraeus, Greece.

The ship replaced Celestyal Crystal’s itineraries and joined her fleet mate Celestyal Olympia.

Celestyal Cruises has been operating unforgettable cruise holidays in and around the Greek islands for many years. They really know this land inside and out! And they have been operating these sailings on board several stunning vessels. In 2023, there was a new addition coming to the fleet.

Celestyal Journey – A History

In the first place, the ship was originally constructed at the Fincantieri Shipyard in Italy, in 1993, and entered service then as Ryndam for Holland America Line. From 2015, the ship operated as Pacific Aria for P&O Cruises Australia before being sold to Cruise & Maritime Voyages (CMV). CMV sadly collapsed during the Coronavirus pandemic and the ship subsequently was sold to become Celestyal Cruises Celestyal Journey.

The ship’s highlights, what to Expect Onboard
