Costa Toscana’s sailings this Summer and Autumn from Valencia, Spain, are proving to be very popular, and there are numerous dates to choose from – you could even take two 7-night sailings and double them up for a back-to-back, should you wish. Toscana’s sailings from Valencia include visits to Marseille, Savona, Civitavecchia, Naples, and Ibiza.
Valencia sits on Spain’s south-eastern coast and is a massively popular stop for cruise ships. It’s a city full of contrasts, as the old town sits delicately beside some incredible futuristic buildings and architecture. Some places we recommend doing/seeing are the Valencia Cathedral, Science Museum, Valencia Institute of Modern Art, El Miguelete Tower, Palau de la Música auditorium, and The Silk Exchange.
Beaches are also popular here, especially during the summer months, and some of the best include El Saler beach, Sagunto beach and El Cabanyal Beach.

Should you choose to embark on one of Costa Toscana’s roundtrip sailings from Italy, we highly recommend a pre-or-post-cruise stay in the eternal city of Rome, especially if you have never visited before. It’s a great way to combine land with ocean, and ideal if you want to spend a little longer than 7-nights away on your summer holiday.
Naples and Marseille are also places worth considering a pre-or-post-cruise stay. Naples offers a slice of Italian heritage and history, whereas Marseille, the oldest city in France, offers quick links to the Calanques National Park which is an absolute must-do if you’re ever in the region!

Costa Toscana – so much more than just a cruise ship!
Costa Toscana is a travelling “smart city”. Besides the great innovation of being powered by liquefied natural gas, she has a series of cutting-edge, high-tech features designed to further reduce her environmental impact. Desalinators are used to convert sea water to provide all the ship’s daily water requirements. Energy consumption is reduced to a minimum with the help of a smart energy efficiency system. In addition, 100% of waste on board is sorted and materials such as plastic, paper, glass and aluminium are recycled as part of an integrated approach that aims to bring circular economy projects to life. The driftwood decorating the islands in the new Archipelago restaurant was salvaged as part of “Guardians of the Coast”, the environmental education programme for the protection of the Italian coastline run by the Costa Crociere Foundation. For every dinner eaten at the Archipelago, Costa Cruises donates part of the proceeds to Costa Crociere Foundation to support environmental and social projects.
